Emergency food assistance remains a critical lifeline for displaced families facing hunger during conflict and public health emergencies. In November 2020, at the height of the COVID 19 crisis, Action for Change Foundation implemented a targeted humanitarian response in Tonga, West Region of Cameroon. The intervention supported internally displaced households who had fled violent conflict in Boyo Division and were unable to access food due to lockdowns, insecurity, and loss of livelihoods.
The project delivered 600 kg of rice to 95 IDP households, reaching approximately 300 individuals, many of them women, children, and elderly persons. This timely response addressed immediate food shortages and helped stabilize vulnerable families during a period of extreme uncertainty.
